Jenny Oh

Ph.D. Candidate, Organizational Behavior and Theory
Carnegie Mellon University, Tepper School of Business

I’m Jenny Oh, a Ph.D. Candidate in the Organizational Behavior and Theory Department at the Carnegie Mellon University, Tepper School of Business. I am currently on the academic job market for 2025-2026.

I study how gender and racial inequality is shaped by demographic context within organizations, particularly through the lens of proportional representation and group composition. I utilize mixed-methods, including archival, field, and experiment data, to investigate the interplay between individual behaviors and group-level structures, highlighting how these dynamics shape perceptions, norms, and outcomes related to voice, status, and evaluations of diversity progress.

I received my B.S. and M.A. in Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University. I grew up in Bergen County, New Jersey, and currently live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
